Sausage Suppers

The Bellville Lions Club sponsors two Sausage Suppers each year, one in November and another in February.  These suppers have had a long history with our club and the community.  The supper includes fresh southern sausage, grits, eggs, biscuits, juice and coffee.  The sausage suppers are held in the Bellville United Methodist Church Social Hall and are a good time for all. The sausage suppers are major fund raising events for the club.

Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair Security

Each year, if invited, the Bellville Lions Club members provide security for the exhibits at the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair in Statesboro, Georgia.  This fair is held every October and is one of our most important and most financially successful events of our Lions year.  It is also one of the most demanding in terms of "people" requirements.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Lions Recycle for Sight

Throughout the year, Bellville Lions Club members collect used eyeglasses, lens, cases, hearing aids, costume jewelry and cell phones.  The used eyeglasses are cleaned and classified by prescription. The eyeglasses are then distributed to those in need by Lion volunteers and other organizations hosting optical missions in developing countries. The collection of these used items will enable many in developing countries to see for the very first time.

Lions collection boxes can be found in community locations such as banks, libraries, schools, places of worship, train stations, coffee shops, video stores and other community businesses;
Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers; or Offices of American Optometric Association or the Canadian Association of Optometrists members.  For more information on how you can donate used eyeglasses, lens, hearing aids, costume jewelry and cell phones to the Bellville Lions Club contact us info@bellvillegalions.org.
